Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of the anodegroup.com website and the anode + client portal. The work we do for a client is governed by the agreement that client signs with us; these terms sit underneath it.

Last updated 11 October 2026

1. Who these terms are between

“Anode”, “we” and “us” mean Anode Group Ltd., an Alberta corporation at 84 Christie Knoll Heights, Calgary AB T3H 2V2, Canada. “You” means the person or business using the website or the portal. By using either, you agree to these terms. If you are using the portal on behalf of a business, you confirm you are entitled to bind it.

2. The website

The content on anodegroup.com, including text, graphics, designs, code and the anode name and mark, belongs to Anode or its licensors. You may read, link to and share it for your own information. You may not copy, republish or resell it, or present it as your own, without our written permission.

The site describes our services and shares our thinking. It is general information, not advice for your particular situation, and we may change or remove any of it at any time. Prices shown for Anode Sites plans are indicative until confirmed in a proposal.

3. The client portal

The anode + portal at plus.anodegroup.com is where clients review proposals, sign agreements, follow project progress, share files, and pay invoices. Access is by invitation. You are responsible for what is done under your account, for keeping your password and sign-in links private, and for telling us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission. You can review and revoke your own sessions in the portal at any time.

You agree not to use the portal to:

  • access or attempt to access records that belong to another client;
  • upload anything unlawful, infringing, or that contains malicious code;
  • probe, scan, overload or interfere with the portal or the systems behind it;
  • share your access with anyone we have not invited.

We may suspend an account that breaks these rules, and we may remove content that does.

4. Proposals and agreements accepted online

A proposal you accept in the portal, and an agreement you sign in the portal by typing your name, are binding on you and on Anode in the same way as a signed paper document. This is consistent with Alberta’s Electronic Transactions Act. We record who accepted or signed, when, and from where, and we keep a copy that both sides can download.

Where these terms and a signed agreement say different things, the signed agreement wins. Where a proposal and the agreement it is made under conflict, the agreement wins unless the proposal says otherwise.

5. Payment

Invoices are issued through the portal and by email, and are payable by the due date shown, in the currency shown. Card payments and subscription billing are processed by Stripe; e-Transfer and other methods are as set out on the invoice. Where a proposal includes a recurring plan, you authorize us to charge the card on file each billing period until the plan is cancelled under its terms. Taxes are added as the law requires: GST for clients in Alberta and most provinces, HST for clients in participating provinces.

If an invoice is overdue we will send reminders. Continued non-payment may lead us to pause work or suspend hosted services, as the applicable agreement allows. Refunds are handled under that agreement; where a payment is refunded, it is returned to the original payment method.

6. Your content and ours

You keep ownership of the files, text and other material you share with us. You give us permission to store and use it for the purpose of doing the work. Who owns what we build for you is set out in the agreement for that engagement; unless it says otherwise, you own the code and the data of the system we deliver, and we keep the right to use the general knowledge, techniques and tooling we bring to it.

7. Privacy

How we collect, use and protect personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

8. Availability and warranties

We work to keep the website and the portal available and accurate, but we provide them “as is”. We do not promise they will be uninterrupted or free of errors, and we may change or withdraw features. Warranties for the software and services we deliver to a client are set out in that client’s agreement and not here.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Anode is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue or data, arising from your use of the website or the portal. Our total liability for any claim connected with the website or the portal is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing here limits what a signed agreement provides for the work done under it.

10. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute that we cannot settle by talking will be heard by the courts of Alberta sitting in Calgary, and you agree to that jurisdiction.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, and the date at the top shows the current version. Changes that affect existing clients will be announced in the portal or by email before they take effect. Using the website or the portal after a change means you accept it.
